Science Bites

In the mammalian brain, for example, a specific type of CaM-kinase is abundant at synapses, where it is thought to play a part in the creation of memory traces in response to the pulses of intracellular Calcium that occur during synaptic signaling. Mutant mice that lack this CaM-kinase show a marked inability to remember where things are. ~ exerpt from Essentials of Cell Biology, p502
